Andrzej Józef Sławiński (ur. 1935, Warszawa) pochodzi z dobrze sytuowanej rodziny, a jego ojciec i dziadek mieli własną firmę budowlaną. Wybuch II wojny światowej zastał go w Międzylesiu, gdzie wraz z matką przebywał na letnisku. Uciekli z kolumny ludności cywilnej opuszczającej miasto i dotarli do Radomska. W powstaniu zginął ojciec.
[00:00:07] Autoprezentacja boh. urodzonego w 1935 r. w Warszawie.
[00:00:18] Przedstawienie rodziców: Haliny i Leonarda Sławińskich. Boh. był jedynakiem. Ojciec skończył szkołę Wawelberga i Politechnikę i pracował w budownictwie.
[00:03:46] Babcia Stokowska zabierała go do Hali Mirowskiej, gdzie kupowała ryby – wspomnienie Żydów stojących przed halą.
Grzybowskiej 42. Tam zastał boh. wybuch powstania. Brat stryjeczny boh. urodził się we wrześniu 1939 w czasie bombardowania Warszawy. Stryjostwo spędzali lato na letnisku w Otrębusach.
[00:08:35] Przed wojną ojciec i dziadek prowadzili własną firmę budowlano-projektową. Pewnego dnia do domu wpadli Niemcy.
[00:12:08] Ciotka i babcia chodziły rano do kościoła.
Boh. chodził do ciotki mieszkającej przy Chłodnej, by zza firanki obserwować niemieckie transporty.
[00:24:08] Przyjemnością było bieganie boso w letnim deszczu. Boh. nie zapamiętał ani jednej zimy z czasu okupacji. Mieszkanie oświetlano karbidówką, do łazienki chodzono z lampą naftową.
[00:25:32] W czasie okupacji ojciec nadal pracował w budownictwie.
[00:31:40] Boh. ostrzegano, by unikał członków Hitlerjugend.
[00:36:45] Pewnego dnia matka przyszła z Wroniej na Grzybowską i zabrała boh. W drodze powrotnej wpadli w ręce Niemców, którzy dołączyli ich do osób do rozstrzelania. Matka znała niemiecki i francuski. W domu zostały babcia i ciotka. Ciotka wzięła krzyż, a babcia czajnik. Babcia i ciotka trafiły do Pruszkowa. [+]
[00:44:25] Z Pruszkowa ludzi przepędzono do Grodziska, ponieważ zniszczono tory kolejowe.
Tam doczekano do wyzwolenia.
Mieszkano w Milanówku i nielegalnie w Warszawie. Matka podjęła pracę w Instytucie Badań Literackich, pracowała z prof. Kazimierzem Wyką. Boh. zabrano do wojska i służył w Bieszczadach w kompanii żołnierzy „gorszego sortu”.
[01:01:00] Babcia Janina Stokowska i ciotka Jadwiga Kłopotowska zostały odstawione do Pruszkowa. Obie nie pamiętały, ile osób zebrali Ukraińcy. Z Pruszkowa przyjechały do Radomska.
[01:05:08] Wspomnienie sanitariuszek z czasu powstania. [+]
[01:09:25] Butelki z benzyną robiono na podwórku, gdzie wytoczono beczkę z benzyną. W suterenie był sklep-mydlarnia, sprzedawano tam naftę. Produkcją butelek zajmowało się kilka osób, głównie dzieciaki. Wspomnienie barykady przy Grzybowskiej. [+]
[01:12:25] Stosunek do Rosjan.

Ever since it was established, the Witold Pilecki Institute of Solidarity and Valor has been collecting and sharing documents that present the multiple historical facets of the last century. Many of them were previously split up, lost, or forgotten. Some were held in archives on other continents. To facilitate research, we have created an innovative digital archive that enables easy access to the source material. We are striving to gather as many archives as possible in one place. As a result, it takes little more than a few clicks to learn about the history of Poland and its citizens in the 20th century.
The Institute’s website contains a description of the collections available in the reading room as well as the necessary information to plan a visit. The documents themselves are only available in the Institute’s reading room, a public space where material is available free of charge to researchers and anyone interested in the topics collected there. The reading room also offers a friendly environment for quiet work.
The materials are obtained from institutions, public archives, both domestic and international social organizations, as well as from private individuals. The collections are constantly being expanded. A full-text search engine that searches both the content of the documents and their metadata allows the user to reach the desired source with ease. Another way to navigate the accumulated resources is to search according to the archival institutions from which they originate and which contain hierarchically arranged fonds and files.
Most of the archival materials are in open access on computers in the reading room. Some of our collections, e.g. from the Bundesarchiv, are subject to the restrictions on availability resulting from agreements between the Institute and the institutions which transfer them. An appropriate declaration must be signed upon arrival at the reading room in order to gain immediate access to these documents.
Before your visit, we recommend familiarizing yourself with the scope and structure of our archival, library and audio-visual resources, as well as with the regulations for visiting and using the collections.
All those wishing to access our collections are invited to the Pilecki Institute at ul. Stawki 2 in Warsaw. The reading room is open from 9–15, Monday to Friday. An appointment must be made in advance by emailing czytelnia@instytutpileckiego.pl or calling (+48) 22 182 24 75.
